Goa to organize several important events in this year

Goa’s tourism schedule will comprise events like the endurance race Ironman 70.3, eco-music fiesta and Sunburn concert in the course of this year. The state government is aiming to attract a huge number of tourists and revitalize a vital revenue-generating segment which is decrepit due to the corona virus pandemic.

Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that the Goa Tourism Board has approved in-principle permission for a variety of events of global standards that would be held in the coastal state this year.

At a meeting of the board, approval was given for organizing the well-liked Sunburn music festival in Goa in December.
Khaunte said that the Sunburn festival organizers have been given on paper clearance on condition that they will permit contribution of Goan musicians during the occasion.

Khaunte said that if the organizers want, they can arrange the festival for four days instead of three. However, there needs to be a stage for Goan musicians. It cannot be only Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fiesta.

The board held its meeting under the chairmanship of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Khaunte is the co-chairman of the board.

The Tourism Minister said that the Sunburn festival is expected to showcase the culture and heritage of Goa.

Organizers of another super event, the eco-music festival, want to organize the next version of the event in Goa and the board has given them an initial approval, said Khaunte.
