For problem-free registration, the Goa tourism department has lessened the number of clearances or approvals that trades need to attach during registering or renovating any service.

This is thought to be a “major relief” for tourism trades. They will now be able to index with the department, submitting the least number of documents. The trades, however, will have to acquire obligatory consents of other departments.

The tourism department will not insist those approvals to be attached for registering or renewing a service.

For registration of a new hotel, they can get the registration done if they submit three documents, which are: ownership certificate, GST registration, if relevant, and proof of identity. No paper is required for submission for renewal purposes.

For registering homestays, earlier the entities were required to submit 10 documents. Now, they can get a registration certificate with just two documents, and none is needed if a renewal is required.

In order to register adventure sports, an operator can now get the registration done with 10 documents as a replacement for 15 required previously.

In the same way, the documents that were needed to be submitted for short-term huts and shacks in private properties have been lessened by 50%, whereas for renewal, a single submission will be sufficient.
