With only two months left for the lapse of the temporary 6-month extension granted to lifeguard service provider Drishti Lifesaving, the Goa tourism department is yet to suggest and pick a new agency.
When Drishti’s five-year contract with the tourism department ended in May, the state government didn’t extend its contract for another five years, but extended it for six months.
For evaluating its expenses towards lifeguarding services, the department decided to float a tender and pick a new contractor. It will take around 3 to 4 months for completing the entire process and select an agency.
Goa tourism minister said that the chief minister will take the final call in this regard.
