At peak times during every single month of the year the Greater Manchester stations saw unreliable trains after the consumer champion did a 12-month comparison of the some of the busiest commuter hubs around Britain.

It was found last year that more than two thirds of Greater Manchester peak services – in and out of Piccadilly (66 per cent), Victoria (48 per cent), Manchester Airport (60 per cent), Oxford Road (80 per cent), Bolton (73 per cent), Stockport (72 per cent) and Wigan arrived or departed at least one minute late or got cancelled.

On an average considering other Britain’s busiest commuter hubs in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds and Edinburgh compared to around half of services.

At four of London’s station passengers had only half of services late or cancelled where Leeds had Leeds had six in ten (58 per cent) and Birmingham New Street two-thirds (68 per cent), while in Edinburgh just over half of services (51 per cent).

In Glasgow two in five (42 per cent) were affected by the delays and cancellations.

May’s timetable further revealed that reason behind Greater Manchester chaos and punctuality problem that occurred in November that was followed In November.

It was found in January that Manchester passengers were still being hit by around 28 per cent more delays and cancellations than the other commuters who availed other transports.
