Green tourism initiative in Kerala

Kerala, located in the southern part of peninsular India, is extensivelypopular for its healthy climate, backwaters, excellent beaches, Ayurveda, along with its rich history and tradition.PA Mohamed Riyas, who is the Kerala Minister for Tourism launched the green tourism enterprise at Shanghumughamtoday. The project is being cooperativelyexecuted by the corporation, district tourism promotion council, HarithaKeralam Mission,Clean Kerala Company,Suchitwa Mission, along with other organizations.

A drive for cleanliness will be held at Shangumugham, where it will witness the involvement of Kudumbashree workers, students of school and college, Haritha Karma Sena along with volunteers.

The distribution of bins that are supported by street vendors union along with 2,000 steel plates funded by Travancore Titanium will be held on this special event.

Kerala is among those handful of states in India that gives special emphasis on green tourism and eco-tourism initiatives. The green tourism project is aimed towardcreating a sustainable destination managing system in Kerala with the help ofcontributions and collaborations. The enterprise will get to see thechange of destinations in Kerala evolve into better places for tourists who would visit the state and live in too.The initiative is being thought of being implemented before the commencement of the international tourist entrance season.

The association of tourism organizationsalong with trade, educational institutions, local self-governments, Kudumbasree, NGOs along with social organizations is expected to make this inventivenessa super success!
