 Thursday, September 22, 2022

In Sri Lanka, Habarana is definitely a gorgeous location, where you can enjoy your time in the Hiriwadunna Village, Minneriya National Park, and Hiriwadunna Lake. One can instantly see that it has the possibility to draw tourists in huge numbers. By the way, the Minneriya National Park is the place where the world’s largest elephant gathering can be found.

The Assistant Director, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Palitha Hennayake, emphasized that September 27th is the World Tourism day. This has an extraordinary significance to Sri Lanka, as the country relies heavily on tourism

Hennayake said that on the whole, they want to inform the world and people of Sri Lanka about Habarana as it’s a place that has tremendous potential when it comes to drawing visitors. It’s a place that has imposing and stunning natural landscape and this is that one cause why they have selected to draw attention to this region

Hennayake is spot on when he pinpoints that Habarana has charming natural landscape. The calm waters of the Hiriwadunna Lake are exotic enough to relieve one’s mind quickly. The tranquil surface of the water and the verdant area has a calming effect on the mind. No doubt this is the reason they met a foreign couple enjoying their honeymoon, relishing the moment that only a place like Habarana can provide.

Krishantha Bopage, Ministry of Tourism, Director Tourism and Planning, North Central Province, said that this year, the theme of World Tourism Day is ‘Rethinking Tourism’.
