Since the country suffered from an existing issues of unemployment, reached its peak with the decision of lockdown and social distancing regulations for several months. Unemployment rate surged to huge and after the pause the situation has somewhat recovered as people are going back to work. People have experienced delays in jobless benefits. Local businesses are also struggling. To overcome the situation in the post-lockdown situation and recovery economy, Hawaii has planned to focus on tourism and attract business. They are working on developing tourism policies for new-normal tourists. For instance, they have implemented travel rules like passengers tested negative will be eliminated from quarantine.
