Italian brand Fendi will expanded its retail footprint in travel retail with its first boutique in Heathrow airport and will be located at Terminal 4 departures. It will be stocking men’s and women’s leather goods, handbags and fur accessories.
Serge Brunschwig, the Italian label’s chief executive officer stated that investment in travel retail in the U.K. is to engage “highly qualitative” travelers who pass through Heathrow and increase the brand’s existing client base, which naturally loves to travel.
Heathrow being one of the most important international airport hubs in the world and has a strong footfall of travellers that keeps increasing year on year.
The brand wanted to build its retail network in London before moving into travel retail.
He said that it was the right time for them to move in the airport market in the U.K with the intention of creating a strong retail footprint and create good network of stores in the key airport terminals in the years to come.
Fendi has plans of unveiling a Kiosk pop-up in front of its permanent space at the airport, building on the success of the Kiosk space introduced at Selfridges over the summer top launch its collaboration with Fila.
For three months the pop- up space will remain open and focus on small travel accessories and gifting items.
The items are aimed at Fendirama range at pre-holiday, Christmas travellers what at the beginning of the year and will feature spring items and special Chinese New Year range.
