As part of the upcoming Visit Melaka Year and Visit Malaysia 2026, the state government of Melaka is rolling out seven new initiatives designed to provide visitors with a more affordable and enriching travel experience. These initiatives, under the concept “Pay Less, See More,” aim to elevate the state’s tourism landscape and enhance its offerings as a premier destination in Malaysia.
One of the standout initiatives is the Melaka Integrated Tourism Package, which allows visitors to explore five of the state’s most iconic attractions at a discounted price. This package includes the Melaka River Cruise, Menara Taming Sari, the Flor de la Mar Maritime Museum, the Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum, and a cultural performance at Panggung Bangsawan. By bundling these must-see sites, visitors can experience the rich cultural and historical essence of Melaka without breaking the bank.
To make the travel experience even more convenient, the state is introducing the Melaka Smart Tourist Card (MSTC). This card will give tourists access to exclusive discounts at various attractions and retail spots across the city, encouraging visitors to explore more while saving money. Another exciting addition is the Hop On Hop Off Cruise package. This service allows visitors to park their vehicles at designated areas and easily board the Melaka River Cruise at any of the jetties along the route. The cruise pass, available for one-day or three-day durations, will be valid throughout the day, making it a convenient way for tourists to enjoy the scenic beauty of Melaka’s riverfront at their own pace. This initiative also encourages visitors to stay at hotels or homestays located near Sungai Melaka, creating a more immersive local experience.

Food lovers will be delighted with the Taste of Melaka Trail @ Sungai Melaka initiative, which offers vouchers worth RM20 to RM30. For tourists staying in Melaka for three days and two nights, a special accommodation initiative will offer complimentary tickets to selected attractions, including the Melaka River Cruise and the Menara Taming Sari. As part of the state’s commitment to educational tourism, a new Cultural Pass for Students will be introduced.
