Tourism to Spain hit an all-time high in 2019, with more than 83 million visitors making it the world’s second-most visited country. Much of the love, however, is being shown to the south of Spain and cities like Madrid and Barcelona. Spanish tour specialist Hidden in Spain is looking to change that, offering a wide range of customizable and preplanned tours to attract more visitors to Northern Spain – the “undiscovered country,” as company founder Luis Fernandez de Vega calls the region.

10% Off and 15% Commission
Based in Spain and working directly with personally curated vendors, Hidden in Spain is offering a 7-day self-guided tour that takes visitors from the resort town of San Sebastián to the capital of Spain’s Galicia region, Santiago de Compostela. Along the way, visitors will be introduced to the spectacular natural attractions, picturesque small towns, diverse and innovative architecture, and world-class cuisine that Northern Spain has to offer.

Through April 30, 2020, these preplanned tours are being offered at 10% off per person. Travel agents can also earn 15% commission on this and any other preplanned package booked, valid through April 30, 2020.

“We start the tour in San Sebastián because the city is an excellent example of the wide range of attractions available to visitors in Northern Spain,” said Fernandez de Vega. “It offers beautiful beaches, incredible architecture, an Old Town of cobblestoned streets, world-class hotels and restaurants, and countless traditional pintxo bars with the best of local wines and dishes – and the friendliest people!”

In addition to San Sebastián and Santiago de Compostela, other cities visited in the Northern Spain tour include Bilbao, Santander, Cosgaya, Gijón, Oviedo, and León. Along the way, says Fernandez de Vega, guests will discover unique natural attractions such as the Picos de Europa Mountains, Spain’s first region to be designation a national park and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. They can also enjoy some of the best cuisine, see celebrated architecture like the Guggenheim Museum, marvel at the soaring cathedrals, and be treated to a broad range of historical buildings reflecting diverse influence such as Celtic, Roman, Gothic, and Baroque. Tour highlights include a visit to Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum, La Concha beach, the Miramar Palace, and the Wind Comb in San Sebastián. Guests will also visit the Magdalena Palace in Sardinero and the Old Fishermen’s quarter of Cimadevilla in Gijon.

With 10% off, price for the standard, 7-day Northern Spain self-guided tour is $1,219 per person, based on double occupancy, a saving of $135 off the $1,355 rate. Price includes accommodation in four-star and boutique hotels, as per the itinerary, and use of a manual car throughout the trip. Guests will also receive a comprehensive guide book, maps, route information, and interesting facts about each area, travel tips and restaurant recommendations. They can also combine public transportation with a private guide and driver for an additional fee. A local trip manager is available by phone to provide 24/7 support. Prices are based on date of departure, length of tour, services, and options selected.

“Many parts of Northern Spain, especially the region from the Basque Country on the east to Galicia on the west, are still unknown to travelers, but they’re really worth a visit,” said Fernandez de Vega.
