Hilton Hotel opens the luxury hotel Higuerón Málaga in Fuengirola

Hilton, the famous North American hotel chain has invested around 22 million euros behind complete overhauling, which opens its doors under the luxury brand Curio Collection by Hilton, with 177 rooms.


Hilton has opened the Higuerón Hotel Málaga in Fuengirola, the third to be inaugurated in Spain under the luxury brand Curio Collection, after the hotels in Barcelona and Ibiza.


The hotel chain has done so after putting in 22 million euros to renovate the facilities of the hotel, which has around 177 rooms and is the only sustainable restaurant with a Michelin star in Malaga, across the Mediterranean.


On 6th June, the hotel opened its doors and will formally open on June 27th, when 1,100 capacity of the new conference room will be in ideal condition. The revamping of the old hotel Reserva del Higuerón has been total, from the rooms to the common areas.


The hotel opens with the attitude of mixing luxury, gastronomy and art together. The hotel opens akin to an art room, with works by masters like Tapies, Rivera or Lita Cabellut, but simultaneously by local artists like Enrique Brinkmann. Specifically the painter from Malaga has ceded numerous paintings and lithographs that beautify each and every rooms of the hotel and the exhibition of works of art that runs through all the rooms of the hotel and that will be transformed every six months, Dámaso Ruano being the artist planned for the next exhibition.


The Higuerón Hotel Málaga has roughly 24 panoramic suites with attached balconies as well as terraces with glass panels across the Mediterranean Sea, providing a 360º views.


In March 2020, Higuerón Hotel Málaga will inaugurate a third tower with 113 new suites, of superior category, most of them of 40 square meters, with which the hotel will reach 290 rooms.


“Malaga is one of the most popular European destinations, with 12.5 million tourists who came to its sunny shores last year,” according to EMEA Hilton President Simon Vicent. “With 1 euro for every 7 euros generated from tourism in Spain, we are excited to expand our portfolio by 50% over the next three to five years.
