The Connected Room would represent a high-technology enabled guest room that would boast of every feature controllable by guests from their smartphone. Presently it is undergoing a beta testing and would be made live in just a single Hilton hotel.
However it plans to expand by making this facility available in several more hotels prior to spreading its wings to impress many hotels all across the United States in 2018.
Christopher J. Nassetta who is the CEO and President of Hilton feels that the idea of innovation has been one of the major driving forces of their brand ever since their President Conrad Hilton had purchased the first Hilton property thereby pioneering the hospitality industry about 100 years ago.
Several years later they are once again making efforts to establish a new standard for the industry by offering guests a travel experience where the room knows them and also, they know their room.
Guests staying in the Connected Room-enabled properties would be capable of controlling their rooms with the aid of the Hilton Honors app.
Some of the aspects of the room the guests would be able to control include its lighting, temperature, television and window coverings.
Furthermore, guests of these rooms can also personalize their rooms with technology. It implies that they would be able to display their own artwork and photographs in an automatic display in a room. Voice commands will also be enabled at a later date.
