Hilton has decided to expand its Australasian development pipeline after signing on as the operator of a new property in the WA coastal town of Busselton set to open in 2022. The $25 million Hilton Garden Inn is set to be built on Busselton’s foreshore and features 112-room hotel. The property is developed by the Su family’s Ausglobal Group in partnership with developer John Zendler, a director at Brisbane-based Pacifica Developments.
The Hilton Garden Inn Busselton takes Hilton’s development pipeline to 15 Hilton properties in Australasia alongside the 27 operating hotels. The property will be Hilton’s fifth hotel in WA alongside the Parmelia Hilton Perth and DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge and the forthcoming DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront and Hilton Garden Inn Albany.
The Busselton hotel will be built in the centre of the town’s 38-hectare commercial, cultural and public space foreshore precinct, which will include a new entertainment, arts and culture hub. Upon its 2022 opening, the new hotel is expected to benefit from the increase in domestic and international airport traffic from the Busselton Margaret River Airport, which is currently being upgraded.
The property will offer ocean views of Geographe Bay and Busselton Jetty as well as feature 242 sq. m. of flexible meeting space, and on-site parking for 60 vehicles. Guy Phillips, Senior Vice-President of Development, Hilton Australasia and Asia said in a statement that the company is deeply committed to the West Australian market. He also mentioned that the signing highlights the strategy of positioning the right brands in the right locations, at the right time.
