As the digital revolution is gearing in travel and tourism industry, the behavior in booking the cabs, hotels and the tour guides is changing more, so most of the travellers use to install the app.
There in the month of September, Airbinb is the most installed app and booking.com is the second.
Hitwise released a data on mobile travel trends, which showed that Airbnb was the most-installed mobile app in September in the United States across both Apple’s App Store and Google Play. The data was obtained using Hitwise’s AudienceView over four weeks ending September 23.
Booking.com took the second position in both the stores, followed by United Airlines’ app. Priceline Group’s investment in promoting Booking.com’s app has paid off in 2017.
Hitwise also took a glimpse at the profiles of travel app users compared to general travellers.
There are some travel app users are 59 percent female, compared to 53 percent of travelers in general being women.
Most of the app users are also more likely than general travellers to take two or three short trips instead of one long vacation, which is good news for travel marketers.
Some of the travel marketers love the android and iOS application installs because if users keep using the apps than there is little cost for new customer acquisition.
According to the report of Hitwise, most traffic to mobile sites are in new sessions, meaning that people tend to go directly to the travel site they intend to use, which could be because they are coming from within an app, or simply because people are more task-focused on mobile.
The desktop users tend to start their movement before visiting a travel site from Google, Gmail, or Facebook instead. There YouTube is the fifth-most popular starting point for desktop users that monitor the travel marketers.
