Holland celebrates Green Destinations Days

This year once again there are to be special Green Destinations Days coordinated with World Tourism Day.
On Sep 27th, the event in Nijmegen is expected to give destination as well as business leaders an exclusive opportunity to meet many inter-national colleagues; to unravel practical tools and solutions as well as get inspired to “create better places together” at the same time better support their local business and stakeholder communities.
Green Destinations and along with its Dutch partners will represent the world’s eminent event for business and destination leaders, managers and experts dedicated to sustainable tourism. Organized at the occasion of World Tourism Day, in cooperation with ANVR, MVO Network Tourism, RECRON, VvKR, Province of Gelderland and City of Nijmegen.
The programme:
Sep 25-26: City of Arnhem: Global Destination Leaders Founding Conference (restricted participation)
Sep 27: City of Nijmegen: Global Green Destinations Day, Nijmegen: an interactive conference program for all the sustainable tourism professionals (English and Dutch sessions) Market place highlighting innovative business solution, Sustainable Destinations Awards presentation
Sep 26, 28: Instructive field visits in Nijmegen.
A substantial number of parallel working conferences will provide opportunities in terms of short presentations and a swap over of success stories along with good practice experience.
The Event targets to convene professionals in sustainable tourism, and in particular the members of ANVR, MVO Network Tourism, RECRON, VvKR, and the Green Destinations Community and Partnership.
The main focus of the Global Destination Leaders meeting is to create a Global Destination Leaders network, attracting together chosen destination leaders showcasing globally significant tourism destinations united by a firm commitment to improve their quality and sustainability performance, to share good practices and experience, and to perk up visibility on the global tourism market place.
