Hospitality and tourism management program of University of South Carolina ranks top 10 in US

The Flagship University of South Carolina is still leading the way in terms of preparing the leaders of the future of the biggest industry of the state. Once again in hospitality and tourism management, the University of South Carolina is among the top 10 in the country.


In the U.S., the ShanghaiRanking’s 2021 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects — Hospitality & Tourism Management ranks South Carolina in No. 9 and No. 17 in the world out 500 more programs worldwide.


About the ranking:


The rankings comprises more than 250 U.S. programs and more than 500 programs worldwide, are done on the basis of research output and influence, international collaboration, research quality, international academic awards and a detailed review collected form 6,000 professors from 100 universities.


In the ShanghaiRanking top 10, this is UofSC’s third consecutive year and the program ranks No. 1 among Southeastern Conference universities.


To quote Robin DiPietro, School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management director, “This ranking puts the University of South Carolina in the 97th percentile for hospitality and tourism management programs nationally and worldwide.
