Hotels in Jeddah enjoyed their best performance levels from the time of the pandemic last month. Jeddah hotels in May this year witnessed the maximum KPIs since September 2019.

All through last month, level of occupancy reached 64.4 percent, while ADR hit SAR901.40 and RevPAR achieved SAR580.62.

While the peak since September 2019, each of the best performance levels turned to be lesser than the before the pandemic comparables from May 2019, with occupancy (-6.4 percent), ADR (-29.4 percent) and RevPAR (-33.9 percent).

The special state of affairs of Saudi Arabia organizing its first F1 Grand Prix, in the middle of races held in Doha and Abu Dhabi, pushed hotelier pricing assurance and on the whole performance to pioneering levels, opined Philip Wooller, area director of STR for Middle East & Africa. The RevPAR level attained on the night earlier to the race was the maximum ever witnessed in a Saudi market outside of Makkah. When compared to the weeks previous to the race, the requirement for such an improvement was important.

The tourism capital Dubai witnessed the hospitality sector increasing steadily. Across approximately 800 hotels, level of occupancy in Dubai has averaged 76 percent all through this year. This accomplishment makes Dubai a global leader in hotel occupancies, staying before New York, London and Paris. Dubai has witnessed 6.17 million worldwide overnight visitors till May this year.
