Hungary’s tourism sector expected to be impacted considerably due to Ukraine crisis

Hungary’s tourism sector will be impacted considerably due to the current situation in Ukraine. Citizens of Russia and Ukraine comprise the top ten most important passenger nationalities in the domestic sector.

Budapest, along with various other Hungarian spa towns, including Hévíz and Lake Balaton, are expected to witnessdecline in visitors from Russia.

The annual report of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association said that in December itself, tourists from Russia and Ukraine were among the top ten most important nationalities of travelers in the domestic industry. In December, 48,000 overnight stays were listed in Hungary from Russia alone.

Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, many countries-imposed sanctions against Russia, which are affecting the tourism sector in a big way!
