A flight of Delta Airlines that was carrying 131 passengers on board was compelled to return to Los Angeles International Airport for an emergency landing on Wednesday on account of a mechanical problem.
The flight to Detroit had taken off around 1.40 p.m.
But its pilot alerted the LAX authorities that the jet was returning to the airport about 2 p.m.
The airplane had travelled as far east as Ontario and it had landed safely around .39 p.m. Stairs were wheeled over to the jet so that passengers could deplane. Thereafter they had boarded buses on the tarmac.
One of the passengers posted a tweet saying that hydraulic fluid was leaking from the plane.
As soon as the airplane was on the ground the crews cooled the engine while passengers and crew members stayed on board. Crews then moved the aircraft away from the terminals and deplaned the 130 passengers on the tarmac.
The flight number and also the destination of the aircraft were not known at the time of this report, as per a news media agency.
