Following the latest advice from the partners regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) the decision was taken. The customers and hosted buyers from the region and globally is of prime concern.
Shane Hannam, Portfolio Director, IBTM Events stated that the decision was not taken lightly. Their customers, partners and team in Singapore have worked incredibly hard on the event, however, it was disappointing to postpone but it is imperative to prioritise the health and safety of everyone involved.
He felt grateful for the understanding of their customers, partners and team for the strong support they had since announcing their new addition to their portfolio.
Keeping in mind that the business has to continue, over the coming weeks they will be creating ways of keeping their community connected to support and collaborate and keep the world moving during the difficult period.
He wished a swift return to normal life soon and was looking forward to returning to Singapore as the host city to meet with as many customers and partners as possible.
Dr Edward Koh, Executive Director, Conventions, Meetings and Incentive Travel, Singapore Tourism Board mentioned that he understands and supports IBTM Asia Pacific’s decision to reschedule their show to 2021. They will work closely with Reed Travel Exhibitions and their partners to provide the assistance they need during this time. IBTM is a valued partner, and their Asia Pacific show remains a key highlight in Singapore’s event calendar. He was looking forward to extending a warm welcome to all attendees and exhibitors in 2021
