Thursday, November 16, 2023

IBTM World, scheduled to occur at Fira, Barcelona, from November 28-30, has revealed a new lineup of dynamic speakers for its conference agenda. These speakers, all well-prepared, aim to provide attendees with the expertise and resources essential for fostering a community spirit in the events they organize.

Keynote speaker announced
On the second day of IBTM World, Lars Silberbauer, the International Olympic Committee’s global head of brand, marketing, and digital, will give the second keynote address. Lars will offer insightful insights into how companies like LEGO, MTV, and the Olympics have created vibrant communities in a time of digital distractions and global challenges in his talk, “Building Cultural Legacies Amidst Disruption: Lessons from LEGO, MTV, and the Olympics.”

Developing communities
Two complementary sessions on community building will take place on the Main Stage in the afternoon of day two.

In the session ‘Give the People What They Want: Think you know your customer? Think again,’ three experienced marketing professionals from Amazon, Twitter, Google, Facebook, the Match Group, GQ, and WIRED will share their comprehensive marketing strategies.

In the session ‘Communications and Content Strategy for 21st Century Event Businesses,’ expert event marketers, including Charlotte Williams, Todd Hansen from Web Summit, and Ella Kieran from WPP’s Innovation Camp, Stream, will delve into the evolution of event marketing for sustained business growth.

IBTM World culture creators
On the last day, IBTM World will present the highly anticipated ‘Culture Creators’ Report in a panel discussion with industry-leading event planners. Titled ‘The World’s Best Business Events (And The People Who Create Them),’ the report offers a global overview of the MICE industry, exploring the experiences, challenges, and aspirations of event professionals in the evolving world of work.

Claudia Hall, Event Director, IBTM World, comments: “In this age of increased distraction and disconnection, proving a space for delegates to come together and share ideas, spark discussions, and move business culture forward, is essential. That’s why community is a key thread of this year’s conference programme at IBTM World.”

A new addition is the Workplace Revolution, providing a unique space for meaningful conversations. Attendees can connect with peers and inspirational figures in a relaxed, campfire-style setting.
