Importance of International Tourism Fair of Cuba Highlighted

In this respect, Granma daily reported the words of Marrero during a tour of that tourist center in the western part of the country.

The prime minister explained that the event is scheduled to take place from May 3^rd till 7^th and would be a great opportunity to show the advantages as well as the achievements of this sector in the country and strengthen the strategic nature of this industry in Cuban economy in return.

He mentioned that the event be a podium to tell the story to the world that the country still exists, continuing as well as moving ahead, regardless of what its enemies claim.

Marrero firmly highlighted the significance of using the Fair to showcase the progress in sustainable tourism and bring to the forefront the experiences of the product.

Also, he mentioned once more the convenience of transforming Varadero, a world-famous destination, where it’s crucial to branch out the offer and quality of services, and to extend the opening hours of the extra-hotel network.

He learned during his visit that only last Friday night, more than 19,000 tourists spent their nights in the facilities of that resort. Therefore, he stressed how constructive it would be to improve recreation, which is not up to the mark, something not good for a place like that.

He also noted in this regard that there should be nightlife, discotheques, outlets and stores in that resort with extended opening hours so it’s necessary to redesign products.
