Last year, Turkey welcomed 2.32 tourists from India among 51.4 million foreign visitors; the tourism board of the country confirmed this last week in a recent statement.

From 2019, visitors from India maintained the record when 2.3 lakh had visited Turkey. Also, for any traveler, Turkey made it easy to access their visa if they can produce a valid US or UK visa.

On June 2022, Turkey had raised all restrictions related to Covid for travelers from India and at a number of 27,000, the month marked record footfalls of tourists from India as well.

Factors like the easiness in obtaining visas for leisure travel along with the continuation of direct flights by Turkish Airlines and Indigo played important factors for this surge in demand from India, Turkey Tourism had mentioned this.

Last year, the tourism revenue of the country reached $46.3 billion, with a rise of 19 percent compared to 2019.

According to the minister of culture and tourism, Turkey, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, these outcomes confirms that after the pandemic, Turkey had a great revival. They are confident to bring 90 million tourists and by the end of 2028, they’ll attain $100 billion in tourism revenues. Ersoy was cited as saying by The Mint.

As the world improved from the ill condition of the pandemic, Turkey rose through the ranks to turn into the sixth most popular destination in the world for tourists.
