The Middle East is prepared to exceed the levels of pre-pandemic times in 2022 with over 100 million tourist arrivals and over $270 billion in revenue contribution and in 2030, its tracked to reach the estimated target of 160 million tourists, a report said.

The hospitality industry of the region has been at the forefront of hotel performance revival and is seeing an extraordinary development, as per market statistics unveiled by real estate consultants Knight Frank and analytics and hospitality marketplace insights provider STR.

The main insights related to hospitality investment were published before the Future Hospitality Summit taking place from 19-21 September 2022, at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.

Turab Saleem, Partner & Head of Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure – Mena at Knight Frank said that the region is witnessing a captivating change in the hospitality with more than 600,000 hotels rooms in the developmental stage.

This quantum of development, which was experienced before in the Middle East or even globally, is set to alter the outline of the tourism industry of the region in the forthcoming years and will help to raise the profile of the region even further as a one of the main hospitality players of the world. In the growth of tourism and hospitality, the successful management of mega events has proven to be the prime driver, with the UAE greeting around 24 million visitors to Expo 2020 in Dubai, in the middle of the pandemic.
