The Portugal Government in 2023 will strengthen the management of the tourism, trade and services industries, with a proposed plan to inspect 4,800 accommodation operators.

In the coming year, a complete strengthening campaign of the number of inspection actions in the tourism, commerce and services sectors is anticipated to take place with a mission to encourage a territorial, temporal scope and a measurement of the inspected sample in alignment with the results to be attained, reads the statement from the State Budget for 2023.

As per the statement, from the view point of the accommodations sector, a target of 4,800 economic operators is hoped to be scrutinized with an intention to cover the different realities in presence that is tourist growth and development and local accommodation establishments.

Taken as a whole, inspections will be conducted on two fronts, starting right from the outset ‘in situ’ and in ‘e-commerce’ via online inspections, considering the dynamics and growth of this sales channel in the tourism sector.
