This year, international travel from Europe was all prepared to make an encouraging start to revival. Though, disorder at several airports in Europe is expected to delay this growth as long waiting lines followed by cancellations are becoming the normal norms of air travel rapidly, says GlobalData. The company also emphasizes that airline which didn’t succeed to prepare for great comeback of the travelers adequately, has created staff shortages.

The Travel and Tourism Analyst at GlobalData, Hannah Free, said that international departures from countries in Europe in 2022 are hoped to reach 69% of 2019 figures, as per the forecasts of GlobalData. As destinations are keen on welcoming visitors, supply cannot meet the demand after tremendous deficits in staffing and industrial disagreements which has got merged with the recovery process of international travel.

At many airports in Europe, other than chaos and cancellations, the recovery process of the travel industry is also fighting hard with other issues like the rising cost of living, inflation, and the Russian conflict with Ukraine. All these disputes are probable to considerably reduce the demand of travel.

Hannah also said that London Heathrow and Schiphol airports have been compelled to request various airlines to decrease their flight numbers, as many carriers have had to pre-emptively choose their schedules by the thousands, impacting travelers immensely. From its summer schedule, easyJet has lessened over 11,000 flights, reportedly.
