As per the minister of tourism, in February, the number of international tourists who arrived in Saudi Arabia perked up to 2.5 million from 2.4 million in January. While speaking with investors and citizens in the tourism sector at the fifth monthly virtual meeting, Ahmed Al-Khateeb explained that the Kingdom has recorded “historical figures,” in regard to occupancy rates and visitor numbers.

He stated that the ministry had trained more than 100,000 young men and women from Saudi Arabia with SR400 million spent to upgrade them. He mentioned that their employment is ministry’s accountability and therefore everyone should help to attain this target.

Al-Khateeb emphasized the significance of industry players to stick to the latest rules and regulations created by the ministry, emphasizing that the ministry will maintain its responsibility in regard to supervising and inflicting penalty on violators, particularly violations of tourist guides.

The ministry is eager to have competent guides associated in this field, who must have obtained right, enough, precise and perfect information, he stated.

The Ministry of Tourism on Dec. 26th introduced 10 new regulations to build up tourism that would help to keep pace with the growth that Saudi Arabia is currently experiencing in different fields.

The new rule includes travel and tourism services, tourism hospitality facility, tourist guides, tourism hospitality facilities management, private tourist hospitality facility and others.
