In global tourism revival, Dubai bags the top spot

In the process of global tourism recovery, Dubai has led the way in spite of the tough times the world has endured due the pandemic.


As per the recent data published by Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Dubai welcomed almost 3.7 million visitors, a year since this desert city has reopened its borders on July 7 2020. The numbers are from July 2020 to May 2021 and strengthen the credentials of Dubai as world’s one of the top destinations for tourists. Also, when it comes to the health and safety of residents along with foreign visitors, it underscore the city’s commitment “The new data reveals that Dubai’s tourism rebound is gathering pace despite the current challenges faced by international markets,” Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, said on his website, on Tuesday.


“The growing momentum of recovery not only reflects the fundamental strengths of Dubai’s tourism sector and the diversity of its source markets but also the emirate’s economic resilience and agility in the face of a rapidly fluctuating global environment,” he added.


The Crown Prince has explained that when it comes to safety protocols, one of the main reasons for this accomplishment is that Dubai has successfully set the gold standard, making it one of the world’s safest destinations.
