In Himachal Pradesh, adventure tourism is being encouraged like never before

In Himachal Pradesh, adventure tourism is being encouraged. The authorities have allowed adventure activities like paragliding and river rafting for the adventure enthusiasts. Like before, tourists visiting Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Chamba, and Shimla can now take part in these adventure activities over here. The same has been stated by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Director Yunus.

This new scheme – Nai Raahein Nai Manzilein of Himachal Pradesh was introduced to unravel new possibilities in terms of promotion of adventure sports in remote areas. The government has set up new paragliding sites in different districts all over HP. In Kullu, its Pandhara to Gadsa and Khargan to Nangabag and in Kangra, it’s Tang Narwana to Khirku.

In Chamba district, Darouta to Lahra (Khajjiar), Lahra to Darol and Raina to Nainikhad Jarei are the recently explored sites for adventure. In Mandi district, Prashar and Spenidhar are the sites to enjoy paragliding. In Shimla, Tikkar and Junga to Chauri are the newly notified sites.

When we are talking about new watersport sites like river rafting, the State’s Tourism and Civil Aviation Director, Yunus, has further explained that a new site on the Beas River from Nadaun to Dehra Bridge has been identified.

Not only this, for paragliding pilots in Manali, the Department of Tourism with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS) have decided to offer training courses for the safety of tourists.

Some prime paragliding sites in Himachal Pradesh include Bir-Billing and Chohla Indru Nag in Kangra district. In Kullu, tourists can experience paragliding at Solang Nalah, Marhi, Talaiti-Talogi and Majach-Shanag.
