In Jan, tourism income in Jordan raised by 122.2 per cent

In January 2023, the tourism income of the Kingdom has increased by 122.2 per cent, standing at $551.8 million, compared to 2022, the recent data on Wednesday published by the Central Bank of Jordan showed the same.


The increase in the number of tourists arriving to the Kingdom is the reason of this surge. It was a rise of 292,400 visitors which reached a total of 504,000 visitors compared with the same time last year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.


In the meantime, the expenditure of the Jordanians on tourism abroad in January 2023 has increased by 109.1 per cent to reach $148.4 million, compared to the same month last year, showing the 96.4 per cent rise in the number of Jordanians going abroad, the data showed.
