With an aim to grow and develop tourism in Jammu Kashmir, Samad Hafeez, the commissioner secretary tourism, J&K, explained that 75 tourist destinations which are yet to be explored have been recognized. These places will be promoted as eco-tourism destinations in J&K.

Hafeez while talking to Kashmir News Service, explained that 75 tourist destinations have been earmarked. These destinations are under consideration for promoting them as eco-tourism spots, where there won’t be any need of construction, which in return can cause damage to the environment of these eco-fragile destinations.

He also explained that these eco-tourist destinations will be kept eco-friendly, with zero constructions and keep the environment as pristine as it is now. To promote these 75 eco-tourism destinations, he said that they have a calendar of festivals. They want that the visitors coming to these places may only enjoy the bliss of nature.

As Jammu Kashmir is currently seeing a huge rise in footfall of tourists, it’s for us it’s significant to preserve the natural beauty and keep them clean at the same time.

He mentioned that to the staff members, they have given instructions to make sure that these tourist places are cleaned as huge interventions of humans can create difficulty, as the ecology of the places is always of major fear.
He also stated that in trekking, limited number of trekkers will be allowed and are being told not to carry any plastic.
