On the outskirts of Nashik, the beautiful farmhouses which have mushroomed have become a major attraction for the tourists who are coming to the city during the weekends.

For stays of two or three days with their family members, now tourists are preferring farmhouses as an alternative to hotels.

There are more than 700 farmhouses in Nashik city-Igatpuri and Trimbakeshwar belt, as per the Travel Agents Association. These farmhouses came up in the last few years.

“Staying at a farmhouse became popular during the pandemic, Most the tourists felt farmhouses were safer than the hotels,” said Datta Bhalerao, a senior member of the TAAN. These farmhouse owners have explained that this new concept is getting a big hit and in Nashik, this farmhouse business is increasing like anything.

All the basic facilities with adequate rooms are being provided by these beautiful farmhouses that four to five families can use with no hassle, said Shailesh Kute, the owner of a farmhouse. Farmhouses also provide cooks.

“Some agencies are also providing online bookings for the farmhouses in Nashik. Tourists from Mumbai, Pune and Gujarat prefer farmhouses to spend one or two days,” said Kute.

Bhalerao also mentioned that Nashik has lately become a major tourist destination not only in Maharashtra but in India as well due to its amazing climate, agro-tourism hub, wineries and vineyards.
