In Pakistan, Students were Requested to Promote Tourism Via Media

During a seminar, this was pinpointed by the speakers. The seminar was organized at Arid University. They also highlighted the urgency to protect historical sites all over Pakistan to draw visitors as this on a local level will create business opportunities.

Participants like Dr. Gulnaz Hameed and Dr. Safdar Hussain, Assistant Professor, Dr. Abdul Sabur, head of the Department of Economics and Sociology, and lecturers Dr. Abdul Rehman, Dr Saima Asad and Dr Shahid Minhas, head of the Department of Mass Communication, Government Islamia Post Graduate College, Gujranwala.

The reason for organizing the seminar was to make the young generation aware of tourism’s importance and the way students can play their role in promoting tourism with the help of media.

To quote Dr. Minhas, “Tourism will increase Pakistan’s GDP by 7 percent and it will improve the country’s economy.” He also mentioned that media can play a major role in promoting tourism in the country.
