In Q3 2022, Tunisia hopes to raise $97 m in tourism investment

Sustained by the improvement in investment in Tunisia, the countries in northern Africa, in the third quarter of 2022, hopes to welcome investments of TND 300 million, explained Mohamed Moez Belhassine, the Minister of Tourism, Tunisia. The minister while giving speech on the sidelines of the 116th Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization, informed Arab News en Français, that the country is slowly speeding up on investment with more than 100 percent of the stakeholders aiming to raise capital.


Belhassine said that in tourism they have witnessed investment to go beyond 100 percent and in the third quarter of 2022, they hope to have TND 300 million.


He also said that among large chains and travel groups, the revival perks up confidence to select Tunisia as their holiday destination, while emphasizing at the same time that the market provides a massive break for alternative tourism as well.


As per Medical Tourism Association, Tunisia positions 38 out of 46 destinations in the world on the 2020-2021 Medical Tourism Index. Also, Tunisia’s gorgeous sunshine and exotic sea beaches turn it into a sough-after tourist destination.
Also, Tunisia has been working hard toward growing the contribution of tourism sector to its GDP from 14 percent to 20 percent and above in the coming years.


For the economy, Tunisian tourism is crucial, representing 14 percent of the GDP. It offers almost 400,000 job opportunities, both direct as well as indirect.
