In Uttarakhand, Surkanda Devi Temple ropeway project introduced

From Kaddukhal to the revered Surkanda Devi temple in Uttarakhand’s Tehri district, ropeway services has been introduced and inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday. To the deity at Siddhpeeth Maa Surkanda Devi Temple, the BJP leader after launching the ropeway service offered his prayers as well.

This new Ropeway Service brings respite to the devotees as well as tourists as now they can have darshan of Maa Surkanda Devi without tediously walking on foot for 2 hours. With this ropeway service, now they can quickly reach to the temple.


Also, the ropeway service will profit Uttarakhand’s tourism sector and create more job opportunities as well, said the CM.


“The ropeway project is a major means of pollution-free transport for commuters and tourists. Action is being taken by the state government for the construction of various ropeway projects in the districts under the Parvatmala scheme of the Centre. Various adventure water sports are being conducted in the giant lake spread over 42 square kilometres in the Tehri district. Other activities related to tourism are being planned in this lake,” he added.


Also the CM Dhami explained that has talked to the District Magistrate, Tehri, to start work on building a helipad in the area.


Tourism Minister, Satpal Maharaj, Dhanaulti MLA Pritam Singh Panwar and Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyay were also present during the inauguration ceremony. Later, they offered prayers at the temple along with CM Dhami as well.
