In the last five years, over $150 million worth development at West Virginia State Parks and Forests have been completed, officials explained this on Tuesday.
At the time of a ribbon cutting event celebrating renovations at Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge, Gov. Jim Justice and Tourism Secretary, Chelsea Ruby explained that the plan of more investment in tourism continues to pay off.
To quote Chelsea, “Revenue in the state parks system is up 52%. The state parks, last calendar year, brought in 52% more revenue than the first year the governor was here. Those numbers speak for themselves.”
The development to the Blackwater Falls lodge comprise – revamping guest rooms, constructing more suites, modernizing the lobby along with public lounge, new gift shop and remodelling the Smokehouse Restaurant.
