India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has performed really well in the first quarter of 2022. It is estimated that they made around 18 cr profit in the first quarter of 2022. The ITDC is a ministry-run organisation that runs hotels, restaurants and various tourist attractions. ITDC also provides travelling assistance to tourists.
The total turnover in the quarter ending June 2022 is Rs. 98.37 cr. Last year the turnover has been only 47.72 cr. This is a raise of 106% approximately. The company has registered Profit before Tax (PBT) against 18 cr. Previously it was against only 0.39 crore. This is a jump of 4515%. The business verticals of the country have shown an impressive increase in performance.
Following this, the hotel division has grown to 74% approximately. The growth in the occupancy is also surprising. The hotel occupancy is the biggest contributor. The organisation works under the Ministry of Tourism. The India Tourism Development Corporation contributes immensely to developing Indian tourism.
This amount of growth shows that India is coming back on track. Developing a sustainable tourism department and jobs would help the country to develop India economic stability as well.
