India witnesses 6.19 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2022

In 2022, India witnessed 6.19 million foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) matched with 1.52 million throughout
the equivalent time in 2021.


The Ministry of Tourism has delivered an inspiring tourism understanding for visitors in a strategic and
phased way under numerous schemes.


The central government has taken a lot of resourcefulness in boosting the tourism segment in
India by initiating ‘Dekho Apna Desh, ‘capacity building for service providers’ scheme among other ingenuities.


As per the reference of the Ministry of Tourism, 59 tourism itineraries have been bestowed to the
recognized airlines by the Ministry of Civil Aviation as part of the RCS UDAN arrangement.

For propelling visitor influx, the government has confirmed, ‘Incredible India! Visit India Year 2023.’ G20
meetings are also being organized in 55 places all through India.


The amount of national tourists visiting pilgrimage sites stood at 1 thousand 433 million in 2022. 6.64 million foreign travelers visited India during this time. In 2021, those numbers were 677 million and 1.05 million, respectively.


The Ministry of Tourism has permitted a total of 45 schemes in India as part of PRASHAD arrangement up
to now, which was introduced in 2014-2015.


The arrangement emphasizes on increasing and recognizing pilgrimage places across India for inspiring
the spiritual tourism practice.
