Saudi Arabia

The travel sector of India has recently witnessed a major rise in tourist numbers going to Saudi Arabia. This influx of tourists rushing to Saudi Arabia was seen after the Kingdom introduced its promotional campaigns recently to draw 2 million visitors from India by the end of this year.

India has come up as an important tourism source market for Saudi Arabia in the last two years. The Saudi Tourism Authority hopes that in the next few years, it would turn out to be the largest one. The STA, all through February, arranged many events all over India, highlighting the historical sites and innovative projects of the Kingdom. Also, it signed a partnership contract with the Indian Premier League, the most-watched T20 cricket franchise of the world, to strike into a powerful sports fan base for promotion.

By now, the efforts have capitulated results, as per the data from MakeMyTrip, the leading online travel company of India.

The company’s chief business officer, Raj Rishi Singh, said that the look for indices for Saudi Arabia reveal an uptrend during the January-March 2023 quarter, rising by 20 percent, quarter-on-quarter compared to October-December 2022. The recent campaigns have started to bring the preferred impact.

Travelers came more often from Indian cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore and other prime cities to Saudi Arabia. Kingdom’s top three destinations are Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.
