Indian Accent celebrates 15 years with a nostalgic tribute, offering a special menu featuring iconic dishes from its 2009 debut, crafted by Chef Shantanu Mehrotra.
Indian Accent in New Delhi is excited to mark a significant achievement as it celebrates its 15th anniversary. This landmark event highlights the restaurant’s role in revolutionizing Indian gastronomy and promoting it globally. The celebration includes a variety of events and activities.
Flashback to 2009:
Executive Chef Shantanu Mehrotra has been a part of Indian Accent since its inception. Reflecting on the restaurant’s humble beginnings at its first location in 2009, he recalls the initial challenges and early successes that set the stage for the restaurant’s storied history.
To commence the celebration, Indian Accent is inviting diners to relive the past with a special tasting menu from 2009. This menu features popular favorites and signature dishes that have become classics over the years. Join Chef Shantanu Mehrotra in New Delhi and Chef Rijul Gulati in Mumbai as they kick off the festivities with dishes that helped establish Indian Accent as a pioneer in contemporary Indian cuisine.
The culinary experience starts with a selection of snacks like whole wheat and semolina puchkas, served with three different waters, paneer tikka chaat, and khakra mille feuille with bell pepper mayo or chicken tikka chaat for meat lovers. The menu also includes panko crusted stuffed peppers with goat cheese mousse and tangy mango chutney, smoked duck shaami with crispy vermicelli, and barberry chutney. For fish enthusiasts, there’s tandoori Scottish salmon with dill and Greek yogurt, or a vegetarian alternative of peanut butter beetroot tikki with caper wasabi chutney, each evoking a sense of nostalgia.
For the main course, vegetarians can enjoy masala morels with water chestnut, asparagus, and paper roast dosai or paneer lasagna with smoked eggplant and goji berry makhni. Meat eaters can savor garlic and whole spice roast chicken with a salad raj kachori side or rice crusted john dory moilee with local greens and pine nut poriyal.
Desserts feature a trio including kinnaur apple and shakarpara crumble with homemade vanilla bean ice cream, coconut and jaggery brulee, ruby grapefruit pops, and the whimsical amarula ki chuski.
Flashback Chef’s Tasting Menu runs from August 15th to 31st at both New Delhi and Mumbai locations, offering six-course meals for vegetarians and non-vegetarians at special prices, thanks to a partnership with Amex, allowing American Express members to enjoy the 2009 menu prices at lunch.
