The analysis of Google search data reveals that online searches for ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ increased 8,164% worldwide after the 2023 Academy Awards, as the film directed by Kartiki Gonsalves won the award for ‘Documentary Short Film’ at this year’s ceremony, making history as the first Indian film production to win an Oscar.
New insights by Celeb Tattler reveal that searches for the movie have reached an all-time high, surpassing search interest for the week it was released in December 2022 by 8,164%.
Moreover, Kartiki Gonsalves also got deserved attention for her directorial role, as her Wikipedia page views exploded after the Oscars ceremony by over 125,000. Her Instagram account gained over 25,000 followers, almost doubling her follower count overnight, statistics from Social Blade confirm.
Producer Guneet Monga also received a profile boost from the award-winning documentary, receiving almost 30,000 new followers since the award ceremony.
The Oscars win also caused searches for ‘Mudumalai National Park’ to soar by 246% worldwide to a five-year high, leading to increased interest in the filming locations used to film the documentary.
A spokesperson for Celeb Tattler commented on the findings said that after making history at this year’s Academy Awards, The Elephant Whisperers is receiving a huge boost in online searches. Not only being embraced by Hollywood – but also the world.
