As per Singapore Tourist Board (STB) data, the number of Indian tourists to Singapore dropped radically from 1.42 million Indian tourists visiting Singapore in 2019, to 54,000 in 2021.

India was among the top three visitor source markets for Singapore; however, last week, the Singapore Tourism Board released numbers that highlighted the dramatic impact of the pandemic on the tourism industry in Singapore.

According to India’s tourism statistics, Singapore was among the top 10 destination countries for Indian Nationals’ Departures (IND) during 2020.

A total of 2,89,287 Indians visited Singapore in 2020, which was 3.97 percent of the total departures in that year.
Even though China, India, and Indonesia were the top three visitor source markets last year, the numbers declined a great deal compared to 2019.

In 2021, Singapore witnessed 88,000 visitors from China, 54,000 from India, and 33,000 from Indonesia.

Singapore witnessed only 330,000 international visitors in 2021, which is the lowest on record. It is less than two per cent of the 19.1 million tourists who visited in 2019.
