IndiGo Provides Hotel Rooms and Cabs Facilities to Support Stranded Travelers, Processes More than Eight Hundred Crore INR in Refunds for the Cancellations Through Mid-December

IndiGo said it is on course to operate over 1,800 flights on Monday, thereby effectively reconnecting all its stations after a string of large-scale cancellations and passenger inconveniences. The airline, which faced severe operational disruption in recent days, had to cancel 562 flights from six metro airports, with 150 cancellations alone at Bengaluru on the previous day.

These cancellations were essentially done due to a host of operational disruptions that saw flights being delayed and thousands of passengers suffered thereby. However, IndiGo put in place crucial improvements in operations after which the carrier resumed operations. The airline said that passengers would be informed well in advance about further cancellations-which are being carried out in one go to avoid last-minute disruptions.

The remaining refunds are expected to be completed shortly.

In addition, IndiGo has successfully delivered over 4,500 bags to passengers whose luggage was delayed due to operational disruptions. The airline is focused on completing the remaining luggage deliveries within the next 36 hours, working hard to resolve the logistics challenges faced by passengers.
