The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry of Indonesia recently conducted technical guidance to the locals for development of tourism village. The programme received support from the Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.

He expressed his solidarity for tourist village development through the provision of technical guidance to some villages in the buffer zone of the Labuan Bajo super-priority tourism destination (DPSP).

The technical training was given to people of Golo Bilas, Gorontalo and Wae Kelambu villages of Mangarai district. They were provided information on tourism awareness and preparation of tourism awareness groups, mapping the potential of tourist villages, group discussions, and practical work on potential tourist village planning.

“The development of a tourist village has a derivative impact on every industry which got involved, so that it can create jobs and improve people’s welfare,” Antara News cited Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno as saying on the basis of a written statement.

The minister further stated that aspects such as tourism product innovation, micro, small, and medium enterprise development, and tourism sustainability, should be considered for destination management.

Meanwhile, deputy for destination development and infrastructure at the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry Vinsensius Jemadu said that the ministry’s programs cover destination management, an aspect that requires cooperation, support, and preparation from regions.
