Indonesia witnesses around 2.25 million tourists in Q1 this year

In the first quarter of this year, Indonesia witnessed around 2.25 million tourists, when compared to 5.5 million in 2022. This year, the country is aiming more than 7 million visitors.


In March, foreign tourists to Indonesia went up 15.4% compared to the month before, which is maximum on ayearly basis for March in the last four years, as per informationavailable from the bureau.


The Southeast Asian country logged 809,960 tourist influxes in March set against 701,930 in February, which is thought to be a low period for tourism.


Margo Yuwono, the head of Statistics Indonesiasaid that tourist entrances keep growing; however, they are yet to go back the levels before the pandemic.


Indonesia witnessed 1.31 million tourists in March 2019. Australia,Malaysia and Singapore are still the first three source markets, untouched from earlier month.
