Iran is all set to revamp the historical monuments and tourism infrastructure of Syria that have been damaged by ISIS, Ali-Asghar Shalbafian, the deputy tourism minister recently announced.
He made these comments while he was attending a meeting on Sunday with the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-Khalil in the Expo 2020 Dubai.
“The Iranian restorers can then exchange experiences with Syrian specialists,” the official added.
Also, Ali highlighted the readiness of Iran to make communication stronger and develop tourism ties between the two countries.
“Health tourism and medical tourism is one of Iran’s most important strengths in the tourism sector, and we welcome Syrian tourists to make use of this opportunity,” he noted.
Al-Khalil for his part explained that there is a rising inclination among the tourists of Syria in visiting Iran, mainly the northern coasts of the country, along with Iranian holy cities, so the necessary grounds need to be created.
On Thursday, the Expo 2020 Dubai was inaugurated with a lavish ceremony of fireworks, music, and messaging about the power of global partnership for a better future.
In the world fair, the pavilion of Iran will showcase the strengths as well as assets of each Iranian province in tourism, cultural heritage, handicrafts, as well as its natural sites, traditional ceremonial practices, and historical significance.
Also, many countries and companies are considering the expo as the first major global event open to visitors since the coronavirus pandemic – to boost trade and investment.
