The quality of the international units of the medical centers all through Tehran is to be developed shortly. This will allow region’s health tourism to do well, the deputy provincial tourism chief has said recently.

To attract foreign medical tourists, a targeted marketing and advertising plan has been devised. It would be significant as the city of Tabriz in Iran is one of the crucial medical hubs of the country, Alireza Bayramzadeh announced on Sunday.

The official has also added that organizing companies that are active in this sector with the assistance of relevant agencies may also be needed.

For Iran’s travel sector, developing the health tourism industry is one of the most important works to be done. It’s trying to prove its capabilities and capacities in attracting medical and health tourists to the country.

Several domestic experts think that Iran’s medical tourism is a win-win situation for the country as well as for the foreign patients, as they get affordable yet quality treatment and in return, the country gains considerable foreign currency.

Tehran and Mashhad are Iran’s two most popular medical tourist cities. However, the Coronavirus outbreak has significantly lessened the number of travelers.

For health tourism in the region, Iran is one of the key destinations, and patients with 55 different nationalities, mostly from countries like Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan are interested to use the services and facilities of Iran in this field.
