Experts associated with Maragheh Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department and their fellows from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University recently talked about various tactics to improve assistance in health tourism in both cities, provincial tourism official Yaghub Talebi said on Sunday, CHTN reported.

“Both sides have good experiences in developing health tourism, and by exchanging them we can accelerate the development of this field,” the official explained.

The useful mineral water along with exotic spas and lovely climate make Maragheh a much preferred destination in terms of health tourism development, he noted.

The research of Van University in medical and health tourism can offer precious contribution to the promotion of the key attractions of Maragheh, he mentioned.

In the past, Maragheh and Van lived long in the same geographical area under the Urartu Kingdom, which related northwestern Iran with eastern Turkey, he added.

In Iran, the rising health tourism is one of the most important fields of its travel sector, which is trying hard to establish its abilities and capacities in drawing medical and health tourists.

Many domestic experts in Iran consider that medical tourism is a win-win situation both in terms of the country and patients from abroad, as they get reasonably priced yet quality treatments and the country gains considerable foreign currency.
