IRCTC launches ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ trains under the DekhoApnaDesh initiative

India is popular for its vibrant culture, color, ethnicity, languages, geographical expansion, religious beliefs and practices. India breathes on the pillar of faith and belief — a land where every new activity or task begins with the blessings and grace of God.


The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) launched the ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ Trains under the DekhoApnaDesh initiative of the Government for boosting religious tourism in the country.


The Shri Ramayana Yatra theme-based pilgrimage tour by DekhoApnaDesh deluxe AC tourist train on the Ramayana circuit will cover the well-known sacred places associated with the life of Lord Rama across India.


The 16 nights/17 days travel would begin its journey on November 7 this year from Safdarjung, Delhi, and visit various places likeAyodhya, Nandigram, Shringaverpur, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi, Janakpur, Prayagraj, Sitamdhi, Varanasi and Rameshwaram.


The railways will also provide accommodation, vegetarian food in rail restaurants and on the train along with ensuring tourist security.


In its 17 day-long journey, the tourists will get to visit a number of temples and sites of religious importance. These include the Ram JanamBhoomi Temple, Hanuman Garhi, SaryuGhat in Ayodhya; Bharat-Hanuman Temple and Bharat Kund in Nandigram; Ram-JankiMandir in Janakpur; JanakiMandir and PunauraDham at Sitamarhi; TulsiManas temple, SankatMochan temple and Vishwanath temple in Varanasi among several others.


The initiative is in accordance with Prime Minister NarendraModi encouraging every citizen to visit at least 15 destinations by the year 2022.
