Ireland Minister Catherine Martin has saidthat the tourism sector will not be “healed overnight” and will continue to need support during the recovery process.
Minister Martin spoke during in-person conference organized by Fáilte Ireland.
The event held at Dublin’s Convention Center, is part of a drive to invite business conferences, events and meetings back into Ireland post-pandemic.
Ms. Martin said that the tourism sector will continue to face challenges including staff shortages, and investment will be required in areas like marketing and recruitment.
She also said that news from the United States regarding the lifting of a ban on EU passengers is good, even though it concerns Irish people going to the US rather than tourists visiting Ireland.
Ending the ban will help encourage connectivity between the two countries, Ms. Martin said.
